“Apart from providing us with energy, breakfast foods are good sources of important nutrients such as protein and fibre. The body needs these essential nutrients and research shows that if these are missed at breakfast they are less likely to be compensated for later in the day”
It is well documented that breakfast is an extremely (if not the most) important meal. There is a focus about what we eat but I think where we eat is just as important. Starting the day with a good frame of mind is ideal and the environment in which we spend our first moments of the day can help.
Over several mornings I will attempt to understand the significance of where I eat breakfast by changing it up. I plan to eat by North Gong Beach, Port Kembla and Mount Keira. I hope to gain an insight into the dynamics of this small, personal part of our day.
Will a change in environment unlock an aspect of eating breakfast I have not considered? Almost definitely. In my experience breakfast is always rushed. Rushed so I can get to work. Rushed so I can get to class on time. I’m looking forward to putting in some deeper thought, starting with this blog post!
